The famous Pompeian red is displayed in all its splendour on these frescoes.

The House of Mysteries got its name from the world-famous frescoes in the reception hall (oecus) of this house. It depicts the initiation of a young woman into the cult of Dionysus in several scenes.

This motif is the first in the series and depicts the young Dionysus singing a hymn from a papyrus scroll. He is flanked by two priestesses. To the right, another priestess brings a cake as an offering.

The figures are framed by architectural elements. Most striking are the marble coffers above their heads, topped by a floral frieze.

The house was built around 80 BC and painted in the 2nd style.

The painting of my copy takes into account every little detail, from the marbling and facial expressions to the faithful reproduction of all cracks, chipped and restored areas. This is craftsmanship of the highest standard and museum quality.

The size of 3.00 x 2.20 m is the original size of this section. It can also be made in other sizes. For a custom size that is not listed here, please email me at mail@anekah.de and I will send you a price quote.
