The famous Pompeian red is displayed in all its splendour on these frescoes.
The Murecine complex is located south of Pompeii on the north bank of the Sarno. After the earthquake of 62 AD, these luxurious business premises were only used as storage rooms and were uninhabited when Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD.
On a red background, this triclinium (dining room) depicts deities framed by architectural elements. In our example, on the west wall, we see a winged Victoria, the goddess of victory, in a green chiton. She is holding a spear, a shield and a helmet. She is floating towards us and her gaze seems to be searching for the victor.
The painting of my copy takes into account every little detail, from the patterns of the fabrics to the faithful reproduction of all cracks and chipped and restored areas. This is craftsmanship of the highest standard and museum quality.
The size of 1.83 x 1.40 m is the original size of this section. It can also be made in other sizes. For a custom size that is not listed here, please send me an email at mail@anekah.de and I will send you a price quote.
